Outdoor Murals

Art is an amazing way to communicate a story and to make a space more memorable—a custom mural can turn a building into an instant landmark, and the right mural can help build a deep connection to a community. I love helping people express their motivations visually, particularly locally owned small businesses.

The process always starts with a relationship and a conversation from which I can gather knowledge and find inspiration in your story and the site of the mural. Back in the studio, I’ll work on a rough sketch or two to share with you and get feedback which will help determine the direction of the final work. I then often create a more detailed sketch with an indication of colour and scale, and once that’s approved I move into painting the artwork, documenting the process as I go. After this, protective clearcoats are often applied to outdoor murals to ensure longevity and make them easy to maintain. Maintenance is either minor (i.e. a quick, light wash of the wall if it gets dirty) or not required at all.

Blindman Brewing, Downtown Calgary Mosque, ETS Kingsway, ETS Clairview, Edmonton Expo Centre, Fringe Festival, Neriah, Rust Magic, and other community organizations commissioned these outdoor murals.
